Lana Popović

Wicked Like A Wildfire

Here are some answers for you! Could I ask that you resend the letter of understanding with my last name spelled correctly: It's Lana Popovic, so it's currently missing that second pesky O :) Thanks so much!
In the meantime:

Colors I like: Violet, indigo, periwinkle (basically all shades of purples, generally towards cooler but can get some of that pink in there), deep blue, black, silvery gray, dove gray, white. And sometimes fuschia!

Fonts I enjoy: I love me some Garamond, or anything like it that translates well to screen. Hate calibri, times new roman, courier, arial. Depending on the design, I could go for a more stylized, slightly calligraphic font but nothing crazy. (I suck at knowing font names. Seriously, I know like four of them and they’re all listed here. )

Websites I like:

http://maggiestiefvater.com/ (I love that she has a logo of her name; I was wondering if I could maybe have one for me? Might be too early/ambitious for that :P I love how many shifting visuals she has on here, though.)

http://blackholly.com/ (Her name looks so cool! But I like Maggie’s site better, more visual, though I like that this has a graphic feel to it?)

http://novaren.com/ (Love this author, LOVE that graphic, bramble background (which comes from one of her book covers), love the black and gray, don’t like her fonts as much)

http://christinalaurenbooks.com/ (Lovely! A little softer than I would like, but I love it)

http://www.rebeccapodos.com/

Websites I don’t like:

http://www.lainitaylor.com/ (Love this author, the site is kind of lameish? I don’t like her typeface choices or the setup, but this looks like she did it herself)

http://www.jacquelinecarey.com/ (Love this author, website is just horrid)

http://www.cassandraclare.com/ (Way too…kitschy-looking. Ewww, books and old-timey shelves)

Favorite things:

Here’s a pinterest board I sent to editors for HIBISCUS DAUGHTER for visuals of flowers, witches, desserts, and Montenegro. I love all this stuff:

Fractal patterns (I would eat these images or get tattoos of all of them):

Tattoos (especially those new gorgeous watercolor, lineless ones! Don’t have any of those though. Yet.)

Aerial yoga

Aerial arts in general, especially silks

Designs based on lace, rope, and leather (I wear a lot of lace, leather, and mixed fabrics. Because I do such things as attend lots of burlesque shows.)

Flowers! Love morning glories particularly, but generally anything with deep jewel tones, brambles, unusual exotic flowers

Feathers! Man I love feathers, especially peacock feathers

Fireworks are pretty awesome (probably because they’re fractals)

Dale Chihouly’s sculptures, and fractal depictions in art in general

Red wine (Love pinot noirs like Meiomi and Angeline, cabernets like Cakebread and Camus (for when I randomly have hundreds of dollars to blow on wine))

Cocktails that involve massive, hand-hewn ice blocks, citrus flavors, whiskey, and bitters

Dia de los muertos skulls

Cats! Black cats rule, but Prussian Blues are cool too

Nightscapes: I have some cool photos of a full moon over the sea in Mexico. They're not awesome, just a random thing I love.

Beautiful book covers (authors I particularly like are starred):

WINK POPPY MIDNIGHT, April Tucholke*

THE DIABOLIC, SJ Kincaid*

MAGONIA, Maria Dahvana Headley*

BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE by Maggie Stiefvater* (I love all the Raven Cycle books, but this is my favorite!)
